Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Neuro to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care for Med Surg Neuro patients including stroke patients, neurosurgery patients, and other neurological diagnoses • Maintain 1:6 patient ratios during 12-hour day shifts • Perform IV starts and telemetry monitoring with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias • Administer blood products and manage central line care • Provide care for patients with CVA, intracranial bleeds, seizure disorders, spinal cord injuries, and traumatic brain injuries • Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips with titration capabilities • Utilize Epic charting system for documentation and PYXIS for medication administration • Float to other Med Surg/Telemetry areas and COVID care units as required • Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays • Complete 36 hours of unit orientation • Maintain current BLS certification and NIHSS certification • Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually • Provide care for patients in the 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit when trained • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams • Adhere to fatigue policy limiting work to no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Make up any called-off shifts within the same week or at contract end • Pass EKG testing prior to assignment start • Maintain valid nursing license and provide two supervisory references from past 12 months
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
