Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist - Radiation Therapist to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform radiation therapy treatments using linear accelerators for cancer patients • Operate and maintain specialized equipment including Elekta Infinity and Versa HD machines • Conduct CT simulation procedures and CBCT/kV/mV imaging • Perform chart checks and treatment planning verification • Administer external beam therapy and electron beam therapy treatments • Execute IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy) and SBRT procedures • Manage patients with prostate cancer seeds/fiducials treatments • Create and position custom molds and shields as needed • Perform tumor localization and field shaping procedures • Operate HexaPOD positioning systems and Exac trac dynamic systems • Utilize ABC (Active Breathing Coordinator) for respiratory gating • Document patient treatments and progress in Epic charting system • Provide patient and family education regarding radiation therapy procedures • Maintain radiation safety protocols and procedures • Handle emergency cases and participate in rapid response situations • Assist with patient positioning using lift/transfer devices including hoyer lifts and sara stedy • Work with adult and geriatric patient populations • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, respiratory services, and social services • Maintain current ARRT (R) and BLS certifications • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (approximately 16 hours) • Provide patient care while maintaining isolation precautions when required • Float to sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed • Work 3 out of 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) • Maintain patient ratios of 2 therapists per linear accelerator • Complete 40 hours of facility orientation • Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules through Workramp transcripts
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
