Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Cardiac Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Wilmington, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care for cardiac telemetry patients with conditions including congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, and post cardiac catheterization • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias using telemetry equipment • Manage and titrate cardiac drips including Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Milrinone, and Dopamine • Perform sheath removal procedures and manage TR Bands and Femstop devices • Provide pre and post cardiac catheterization care and post cardiac surgery care • Administer blood products and manage central lines, PICC lines, and peripheral lines • Access and maintain ports for medication administration • Maintain patient ratios of 1:6-7 during night shifts • Float between units within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals as needed • Document patient care using Epic electronic health record system • Complete 24 hours of unit orientation and ongoing training modules • Work 12-hour night shifts with weekend coverage requirements of 5-6 weekends within 6-week schedule periods • Participate in Storm Team and Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events or disasters • Maintain current ACLS and BLS certifications • Pass EKG testing requirements prior to start date • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable training modules pre-start and annually • Utilize SBAR communication methods and Pyxis medication dispensing system • Comply with fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days and 60 hours per week • Maintain valid nursing licensure in North Carolina or Compact state • Complete required compliance testing within 48 hours of contract signing
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
