Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist - Radiation Therapist to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide radiation therapy services to adult and geriatric patients using Varian linear accelerators
• Perform external beam therapy and IMRT treatments under physician supervision
• Operate CT simulation equipment and assist with treatment planning procedures
• Create custom molds and positioning devices for patient treatments
• Utilize beam modifying devices including wedges and shields for optimal treatment delivery
• Perform daily imaging procedures including CBCT, kV, and mV imaging for treatment verification
• Document patient treatments and maintain accurate records in ARIA electronic medical record system
• Work with Eclipse (Varian) and Pinnacle (Philips) treatment planning systems
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient care
• Implement radiation safety protocols and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements
• Assist with tumor localization procedures using CT, MRI, and PET scan imaging
• Utilize lift and transfer devices to safely position patients for treatments
• Follow isolation precautions and infection control protocols as required
• Participate in rapid response and code team activities when needed
• Float between multiple clinic locations within the Wilmington coastal region as assigned
• Maintain current BLS and ARRT(T) certifications
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Work assigned shifts including occasional schedule variations from 8am-5pm to 9am-6pm
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Report to work during storm team assignments or emergency situations as required
• Collaborate effectively as part of a therapy team without working alone
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5 while ensuring quality care delivery
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
