Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - PCU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Wilmington, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting with cardiac telemetry monitoring • Maintain minimum 2 years of cardiac floor experience • Perform cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias • Manage cardiac patients including post-MI, pre/post cardiac cath procedures • Manage cardiac drips with and without titration as required • Perform sheath removal and femoral sheath management • Manage chest tubes using Emerson/Pleuravac systems • Provide respiratory support including external CPAP/BIPAP and nasal cannula • Perform non-invasive airway management • Care for patients with various cardiac diagnoses including CHF, ACS, CAD, and arrhythmias • Assist with post-operative care for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries • Operate special equipment including arterial lines, Doppler, bladder scanner, and EKG machines • Utilize Epic documentation system and Pyxis medication system • Maintain BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications • Work night shifts (36 hours) with patient ratios varying by acuity (1:3 to 1:5) • Float between units based on census and skill set requirements • Work 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period • Complete 24 hours of unit orientation • Pass EKG testing prior to start date • Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable training modules pre-start and annually • Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events • Adhere to fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Maintain valid nursing license and provide supervisory references • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays as required • Complete all compliance documentation and testing within 48 hours of assignment
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
