Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - PCU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Wilmington, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting with 2+ years cardiac floor experience • Monitor and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias using telemetry equipment • Manage patients with various cardiac diagnoses including atrial fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, and cardiomyopathy • Perform pre and post cardiac catheterization care including sheath removal • Manage cardiac drips without titration and titrate cardiac drips as ordered • Provide care for post-surgical patients including CABG, valve replacements, and vascular procedures • Operate specialized equipment including arterial lines, chest tubes, femoral sheaths, and pacing equipment • Maintain patient ratios of 1:3 for surgical step down, 1:4 for cardiac/vascular surgical, and 1:5 for other cardiac patients • Document patient care using Epic charting system • Float between units within hospital and affiliate hospitals as needed based on census and skill set • Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications • Pass EKG testing prior to assignment start • Work night shifts (18:45-07:15) for 36 hours per week • Work 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period • Complete 24 hours of unit orientation • Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually • Maintain valid nursing license (NC or Compact state) • Provide two manager/supervisor references from past 12 months • Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Report for Storm Team/Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events • Complete all required testing within 48 hours of contract signing • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) • Maintain professional appearance in required navy scrubs
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
