Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Physicist - Radiation Oncology to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Cover physics clinical tasks during clinical hours in radiation oncology setting
• Perform external beam radiation therapy (teletherapy) procedures
• Conduct intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) treatments
• Implement radiation safety precautions and protocols
• Operate Varian equipment including Halcyon, TrueBeam, and IX linacs
• Utilize Nucletron HDR Afterloader for brachytherapy procedures
• Work with Siemens CT simulator for treatment planning
• Use Sun Nuclear QA physics equipment for quality assurance
• Perform treatment planning using Varian Eclipse system
• Manage patient records and verification using Aria system
• Conduct MLC based stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) procedures
• Perform stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT)
• Execute volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) treatments
• Provide image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) services
• Perform total body irradiation and other special procedures
• Conduct vaginal cylinder brachytherapy treatments
• Provide coverage at satellite centers with Varian linacs
• Use VisionRT for surface guided radiation therapy (SGRT)
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Maintain ABR Therapeutic Medical Physics certification
• Work Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts
• Complete 40 hours of clinic orientation
• Adhere to fatigue policy restrictions on consecutive work days and weekly hours
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
