Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Bolivia, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide registered nursing care in Labor and Delivery/Mother-Baby (LDRP) unit with 1:4 patient ratios
• Assist with sterile speculum examinations including assessment of effacement, dilation, station, and presentation
• Utilize External Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM) and internal fetal monitoring equipment
• Recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Provide breastfeeding support and lactation assistance to new mothers
• Maintain current BLS, AWHONN, and NRP certifications
• Complete 2 mandatory call shifts per 6-week schedule
• Float to assist other units within the hospital or affiliate facilities as needed
• Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Perform night shift duties from 18:45 to 07:15
• Complete 32 hours of unit orientation
• Adhere to fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Complete required non-billable modules pre-start and annually (8-10 hours for acute care roles)
• Maintain valid NC or Compact state nursing license
• Provide two manager/supervisor references from past 12 months
• Care for patients 36 weeks gestation and up in 9-bed LDRP unit
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, cesarean sections, and vaginal deliveries
• Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and manage epidural anesthesia
• Perform newborn assessments, cord care, and infant identification procedures
• Provide discharge teaching to new parents including car seat education and circumcision care
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
