Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Bolivia, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care in Labor and Delivery and Postpartum (LDRP) unit with 1:2 patient ratios • Assist with sterile speculum examinations including assessment of effacement, dilation, station, and presentation • Utilize External Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM) and internal fetal monitoring systems • Recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns • Provide breastfeeding support and lactation assistance to new mothers • Maintain current BLS, AWHONN, and NRP certifications • Document patient care using Epic charting system • Complete 2 mandatory call shifts per 6-week schedule • Work every other weekend as required • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Float to assist other units when needed without taking full patient assignments • Complete 32 hours of unit orientation • Provide couplet care with 1:4 ratios when assigned to Mother/Baby unit • Assist with high-risk deliveries and cesarean sections • Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and other labor and delivery drugs • Perform newborn assessments and provide infant care • Maintain valid nursing license (NC or Compact state) • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (8-10 hours, non-billable) • Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Provide discharge teaching to new parents • Complete required compliance testing within 48 hours of assignment start
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
