Position Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive nursing care for medical/surgical patients with diagnoses including dementia, diabetes, COVID, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, encephalopathy, GI bleed, anemia, and hip fractures • Maintain patient ratios of 1:5-6 during 12-hour night shifts • Perform telemetry monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias • Administer blood products and manage IV insulin protocols • Provide colostomy care and feeding tube care & management • Manage pre/post hemodialysis care and central line blood draws • Perform peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, and PICC line management • Start IVs and administer heparin and PCA medications • Manage chest tubes using Emerson/Pleuravac systems • Provide CPAP/BiPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) respiratory support • Perform non-invasive airway management and oral suctioning • Maintain isolation precautions for COVID patients in designated isolation areas • Provide wound care and wound vac management • Access ports and manage surgical drains • Interpret ABGs and provide tracheostomy management • Utilize rapid response teams when needed • Document patient care using Epic charting system • Use Pyxis medication dispensing system and SBAR communication methods • Float to other units within the hospital or affiliate hospitals as needed • Work 12-16 weekend shifts per contract and 2 out of 3 major holidays • Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events • Complete 24 hours of unit orientation and attend required hospital orientation classes • Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable pre-start and annual training modules • Maintain current BCLS certification • Adhere to fatigue policy limiting work to no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Pass EKG testing prior to assignment start • Maintain professional appearance in navy/white scrubs • Complete required compliance testing within 48 hours of contract signing
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
