Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Torrance, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for Labor & Delivery patients including low and high risk labor patients, antepartum with multiples, hypertensive disorders, diabetic conditions, and multiple system issues • Maintain required certifications including ACLS, AWHONN Advanced (or C-EFM), BLS, and NRP • Float to Mother/Baby unit and between sister facilities as required • Circulate and recover cesarean sections, including scrubbing and circulating for C-sections • Perform postpartum D&C procedures • Conduct non-stress tests and set up delivery tables • Provide newborn care and support Baby Friendly initiatives • Work with patient ratios following AWHONN standards (1:1 for active labor, no more than 2 for early labor) • Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation • Work weekends and commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years • Maintain valid CA state nursing license • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretaries • Utilize precepting skills when available to support unit operations • Care for patients across age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, and adults • Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
