Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - OR to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x10 Days at a leading Hospital in Salem, OR. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care as an OR RN for day shift operations
• Maintain current BLS certification and obtain ACLS certification as preferred
• Utilize Epic charting system for all documentation requirements
• Work variable 10-hour shifts with start times at 07:00, 09:00, or 11:00
• Participate in weekday night call shifts (8 hours, 2300-0700)
• Cover weekend scheduled and call shifts (10/12 hours)
• Complete up to 5-6 call and/or weekend scheduled shifts per 6-week schedule
• Perform surgical procedures across multiple specialties including orthopedic, neurological, cardiovascular, general surgery, urology, gynecology, and trauma cases
• Operate and maintain surgical equipment including Da Vinci Xi Surgical System, electrosurgical units, and fiber optic equipment
• Assist with robotic surgeries including gastrointestinal, gynecologic, and urologic procedures
• Follow AORN patient ratio standards for days, nights, and weekends
• Float to affiliate hospitals as required, particularly West Valley Hospital
• Complete 30 hours of facility orientation
• Provide care for all age groups including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Complete non-billable training modules pre-start and annually (up to 8 hours)
• Maintain specialty certifications including CNOR as applicable
• Comply with infection control, fire safety, laser safety, and radiation safety protocols
• Participate in trauma response as part of Level II Trauma Center operations
• Follow Universal Protocol procedures for surgical time-outs and specimen handling
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
