Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - PCU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Salem, OR. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with patients requiring telemetry or IMC level care • Maintain patient ratios of 1:4-6 patients on days and nights, 1:3-4 on weekends • Manage telemetry monitoring and interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias • Administer and manage cardiac drips including nitro, Cardizem, and amiodarone • Perform non-invasive airway management and oxygen protocol implementation • Provide peripheral line care and management including PICC line management • Execute isolation precautions and proper PPE protocols • Activate rapid response teams when clinically indicated • Complete computerized documentation using Epic charting system • Float to various units including MS/Tele/Stepdown/IMC units and West Valley Hospital as needed • Work every other weekend as required • Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (non-billable, up to 8 hours) • Manage patients with various diagnoses requiring Med-Surg and IMC level of care • Provide support to Emergency Department when holding patients • Administer blood products and monitor chemotherapy when required • Manage chest tubes, feeding tubes, and tracheostomy care • Perform wound care including wound vac management • Handle pre/post cardiac catheterization and hemodialysis management • Care for patients with traumatic brain injuries, strokes, and seizure disorders • Manage patients undergoing substance withdrawal • Provide post-operative care for total joint replacements and craniotomies
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
