Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - PCU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Salem, OR. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care in MS/Tele/PCU units as part of float pool team supporting all adult inpatient units • Maintain patient ratios of 1:4-6 patients during assigned shifts • Manage telemetry monitoring and interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias • Administer and manage cardiac drips including nitro, Cardizem, and amiodarone • Perform non-invasive airway management and oxygen protocol administration • Provide peripheral line care and management including IV insertion and maintenance • Execute isolation precautions and proper PPE usage • Activate rapid response teams when clinically indicated • Complete computerized documentation using Epic charting system • Float between units within facility and to affiliate hospitals as needed including West Valley Hospital • Work 12-hour day shifts from 0700-1930 as scheduled • Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules up to 8 hours non-billable time • Provide care for adult and geriatric patient populations with variety of diagnoses • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy • Manage special equipment including Baxter IV pumps, SCDs, and Kangaroo enteral feeding pumps • Provide support to Emergency Department when holding patients • Maintain competency in blood product administration, chest tube management, and wound care • Execute pre/post cardiac catheterization and hemodialysis management protocols
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
