Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - PACU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x10 Days at a leading Hospital in Wilmington, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide observation and care to patients who have undergone surgical procedures requiring anesthesia
• Receive and care for patients directly from OR, EP Lab, Endo, IR, MRI and ICU settings
• Manage Phase 1 and Phase 2 PACU recovery care
• Monitor patients during recovery periods of 30 to 90 minutes until discharge criteria are met
• Maintain current ACLS, BCLS, and PALS certifications
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Manage specialized equipment including cardiac monitors, arterial lines, ICP monitoring, and ventilators
• Provide care for diverse patient populations including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
• Care for patients with various surgical diagnoses including vascular, neurosurgery, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, and general surgery
• Float to areas of overflow patients and surgical short stay units as needed
• Discharge Phase II patients during nights and weekends
• Manage overnight patients requiring tower or ICU level care
• Participate in call requirements once every four weeks
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays as required
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Maintain valid nursing licensure and provide supervisory references
• Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events
• Adhere to fatigue policy limitations of maximum 5 consecutive days and 60 hours per week
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
