Position Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide wound care nursing services for patients with complex wounds, ostomy care, and continence management • Perform comprehensive wound assessment and staging including pressure ulcers stages I-IV • Conduct ostomy care including colostomy, ileostomy, double barrel stoma, end stoma, loop with rod stoma, and mucous fistula management • Execute various wound treatments and dressings including alginates, foams, hydrocolloids, vacuum assisted closure, and wound vac therapy • Perform debridement procedures including mechanical, sharp, autolytic, and enzymatic debridement • Assess and manage neuropathic ulcers, peripheral arterial ulcers, venous status ulcers, and pressure ulcers • Utilize ulcer risk assessment tools including Braden scale assessment for adult and pediatric patients • Manage symptoms including pain, altered mental status, constipation/diarrhea, depression/anxiety, and fatigue • Provide G-tube/J-tube feeding and site care • Implement infection control measures and isolation precautions • Educate patients and families on wound care, ostomy management, and prevention strategies • Document patient care using Epic charting system • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for comprehensive patient care • Maintain current BLS and WOCN certifications • Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays as required • Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Float within hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed based on census and skill set • Maintain valid nursing license and provide supervisory references • Complete compliance testing within 48 hours after contract signing
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
