Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Hematology Oncology to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Administer chemotherapy and IV therapy for patients undergoing oncology treatment
• Provide care for patients with extensive range of cancer diagnoses
• Work Monday-Friday 8-5 schedule with potential overtime for treatment reactions or complexities
• Maintain ONCC/ONS certification
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation
• Manage patient ratios of 4-5 patients
• Access and manage ports for treatment delivery
• Administer blood and blood products
• Perform IV push administration of chemotherapy
• Monitor patients during chemotherapy treatments
• Recognize and manage treatment side effects
• Handle cytotoxic therapy and manage disposal of cytotoxic spills
• Provide intravenous hydration and multivitamins
• Start and maintain IV lines
• Perform central line blood draws and PICC line care
• Administer antiemetics, antibiotics, and other supportive medications
• Assess medication tolerance and dependence
• Recognize and communicate abnormal lab values
• Implement neutropenic and isolation precautions as needed
• Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within comparable specialty
• Float between facilities within state as required
• Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
