Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Torrance, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide registered nursing care for labor and delivery patients including low and high risk labor patients with antepartum conditions, multiples, hypertensive disorders, diabetic conditions, and multiple system issues • Maintain current ACLS, AWHONN Advanced (or C-EFM), BCLS, and NRP certifications • Circulate and recover cesarean sections, and assist with postpartum D&C procedures • Maintain appropriate patient ratios following AWHONN standards (1:1 for active labor, maximum 2:1 for early labor) • Float to mother/baby unit and other affiliate facilities as required • Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation • Set up delivery tables and perform non-stress tests • Provide newborn care and support baby-friendly practices • Work flexible weekend shifts and commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Provide minimum 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years • Maintain valid California RN license • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretaries • Care for patients across multiple age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, and adults • Complete 24-hour orientation program • Use facility-provided communication devices when required for patient care duties • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Adhere to facility policies and procedures for labor and delivery care
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
