Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant - Medical Assistant to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide Medical Assistant services in acute care setting
• Maintain current BLS certification
• Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually
• Work weekends as scheduled (every other weekend is standard)
• Be available for on-call shifts when overstaffed
• Commit to working 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation
• Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed
• Assist with patient ambulation, feeding, turning and repositioning
• Perform complete bed baths and bed shampoos
• Change linens for occupied and unoccupied beds
• Provide pressure injury prevention care
• Perform foot care and skin care
• Assist with urine/stool incontinence care
• Provide mouth care and perineal care for male/female patients
• Assist with patient shaving and shower assistance
• Operate oxygen tanks and pulse oximetry equipment
• Don and remove PPE following isolation precautions
• Perform glucose point of care testing
• Obtain vital signs including blood pressure (including orthostatic), respirations, pulse, and temperature
• Recognize abnormal and normal vital sign parameters for adults and pediatrics
• Perform safe patient transfers
• Report changes in patient condition to appropriate staff
• Provide care for middle adult, older adult, and geriatric patients
• Maintain valid state licensure
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment
• Complete required compliance documentation and certifications
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Adhere to facility policies and procedures for patient care delivery
• Maintain reliable transportation for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
