Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - OR to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Anchorage, AK. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive OR nursing services for various surgical specialties including trauma, orthopedic, neurological, gynecological, ENT, urological, and vascular procedures
• Scrub and circulate for surgical cases across multiple specialties and patient populations from neonates to geriatrics
• Maintain current Alaska RN license and required certifications including BLS, ACLS, and CNOR
• Utilize Epic charting system for accurate documentation and patient records
• Operate and maintain specialized surgical equipment including XI Robot, Stealth navigation, and Mazor Robot Spine systems
• Provide on-call coverage as needed for shift call-offs and emergency situations
• Float to like units within the hospital and affiliate facilities as required to meet operational needs
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules within specified timeframes
• Maintain minimum patient ratio of 1:1 during surgical procedures
• Administer blood and blood products following established protocols
• Respond to code situations and provide emergency patient care
• Ensure proper specimen handling, labeling, and chain of custody procedures
• Implement Universal Protocol (Time out) procedures for patient safety
• Maintain sterile field and infection control practices throughout surgical procedures
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including radiology, pharmacy, lift teams, and interpretation services
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty setting
• Complete required compliance documentation and maintain professional development requirements
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in AK
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
