Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Torrance, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care to low and high risk labor patients including antepartum with multiples, hypertensive disorders, diabetic conditions, and multiple system issues
• Maintain 1:1 patient ratio for active labor patients and no more than 2:1 for early labor patients following AWHONN standards
• Circulate and recover cesarean sections and assist with postpartum D&C procedures
• Float to Mother/Baby unit and postpartum units as assigned
• Perform newborn care and Baby Friendly practices
• Conduct non-stress tests and set up delivery tables
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Maintain current ACLS, AWHONN Advanced (or C-EFM), BLS, and NRP certifications
• Work flexible weekend schedules and commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays
• Complete 24 hours of orientation and required pre-start training modules
• Float between affiliate hospitals when necessary
• Provide precepting services to new staff members (preferred)
• Interpret telemetry and fetal heart monitoring
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, respiratory services, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
• Maintain valid state nursing license and provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of experience
• Complete annual training modules and self-report time spent on non-billable training
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for patient care duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
