Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Torrance, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for Labor & Delivery patients including low and high risk labor patients, antepartum with multiples, hypertensive disorders, diabetic conditions, and multiple system issues • Maintain current ACLS, AWHONN Advanced (or C-EFM), BCLS, and NRP certifications • Circulate and recover cesarean sections and perform postpartum D&C procedures • Float to Mother/Baby unit and affiliate hospitals as required • Provide newborn care and perform non-stress tests • Set up delivery tables and assist with deliveries • Follow AWHONN standards maintaining 1:1 ratio for active labor patients and no more than 2:1 for early labor • Utilize Epic charting system for documentation • Work flexible weekend schedules and 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) • Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually • Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years during compliance process • Maintain valid CA state nursing license • Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Comply with facility policies and procedures for patient care delivery • Precept new staff members when assigned • Manage care for neonates, infants, adolescents, and adults • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretaries
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
