Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ER to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Fullerton, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide emergency room nursing care with 1:4 patient ratios • Maintain current ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications • Float to telemetry hold and ICU hold units as needed • Work every other weekend or equivalent, with potential for additional weekend shifts • Manage patients of all ages including 10% pediatric population • Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias • Start and maintain IV access and administer IV vasopressors • Titrate drips and vasoactive medications • Provide care for stroke and STEMI patients in certified facility • Perform triage functions as assigned • Conduct wound care and assist with emergency procedures • Monitor patients requiring dialysis support • Utilize Meditech charting system for documentation • Provide care for patients with respiratory, cardiac, stroke, and abdominal pain diagnoses • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including PT, respiratory, pharmacy, and rapid response teams • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) • Maintain valid California RN license • Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years • Float between affiliate facilities within the state as required • Use facility-provided communication devices when required for patient care
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
