Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Wilmington, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in Med Surg Telemetry unit with 1:6-7 patient ratios • Manage dysrhythmias and interpret cardiac rhythms • Perform oxygen protocol management and non-invasive airway management • Provide peripheral line care and management • Administer blood products and manage central line care • Implement isolation precautions and proper PPE usage • Document patient care using Epic electronic charting system • Activate Rapid Response Team when appropriate • Manage medication drips and infusion protocols • Provide care for medical surgical and orthopedic patients including total joint replacements • Perform wound care and wound vacuum management • Manage surgical drains and post-operative care • Utilize PCA pumps for pain management • Float to similar units and alternate care locations as needed • Work 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15) • Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays • Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually • Maintain current BCLS certification and obtain ACLS if required • Pass EKG testing prior to assignment start • Participate in Storm Team/Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events • Adhere to facility fatigue policy limiting work to 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Complete compliance testing within 48 hours of contract signing • Provide two manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
