Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Wilmington, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for medical-surgical and telemetry patients with 1:6/7 patient ratio • Work 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15) for 36 hours per week • Float between medical/surgical floors and affiliate hospitals as assigned by CNRO • Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation • Perform IV starts and telemetry monitoring • Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias • Provide non-invasive airway management and nasal cannula care • Manage peripheral line care and maintenance • Implement isolation precautions as needed • Participate in rapid response and code team activities • Work every other weekend as required • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) • Maintain current BLS certification • Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually • Participate in 24-hour unit orientation • Pass EKG testing prior to assignment start • Care for adult and geriatric patients • Provide care for patients with COVID when required • Work as part of Storm Team/Hurricane Team during catastrophic events • Adhere to fatigue policy limitations (maximum 5 consecutive days, 60 hours per week) • Maintain teamwork approach and meet behavioral expectations • Follow strict call-off policies and attendance requirements • Wear navy and/or white scrubs per dress code • Assist with caring for inpatient holds in emergency department • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
