Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Wilmington, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care for medical surgical and telemetry patients including adults and geriatrics • Maintain current BLS certification (ACLS and NIH preferred) • Float between medical/surgical floors and affiliate hospitals working with CNRO (Centralized Resource Nursing Pool) • Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring • Perform IV starts and peripheral line care/management • Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation • Pass EKG testing prior to assignment start • Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually • Work 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15) with 36 hours per week • Maintain patient ratios of 1:6 target (maximum 1:7 during high census) • Work every other weekend as required • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) • Implement isolation precautions and infection control measures • Provide nasal cannula oxygen therapy and non-invasive airway management • Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams • Utilize rapid response and code teams when necessary • Care for patients held in ED awaiting inpatient placement • Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events • Report to work during mass casualty events or disasters as required • Adhere to facility dress code wearing navy and/or white scrubs • Follow fatigue policy guidelines (no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week) • Complete facility orientation within 24 hours • Provide two manager/supervisor references from past 12 months • Maintain teamwork approach and meet behavioral expectations in all patient and staff interactions
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
