Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Wilmington, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive nursing care for Med Surg Telemetry patients with 1:6-7 patient ratios • Monitor and manage dysrhythmias and interpret cardiac rhythms • Perform oxygen protocol management and non-invasive airway management • Provide care for orthopedic patients including post-surgical and trauma cases • Manage peripheral and central line care when applicable • Administer blood products and manage IV drips as needed • Utilize Epic electronic charting system for patient documentation • Implement isolation precautions and proper PPE protocols • Activate Rapid Response Team when clinically indicated • Float between similar units and alternate care locations as needed • Float to main campus facility 15 minutes away when required • Work 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15) • Work every other weekend as scheduled • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) • Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments • Report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualty situations, or disasters • Maintain current BLS certification (ACLS preferred) • Pass EKG testing prior to start date • Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually • Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Provide wound care and manage surgical drains • Care for patients with total joint replacements • Manage PCA pumps and heparin protocols • Maintain valid nursing license (NC or Compact state) • Provide two supervisory references from the past 12 months
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
