Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist - Radiation Therapist to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide radiation therapy treatments to adult outpatients with various cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, brain, extremity, skin, prostate, gynecological, pelvic, genitourinary, pancreatic, and esophageal cancers
• Perform tumor localization and utilize CBCT/kV/mV imaging for precise treatment delivery
• Operate TrueBeam linear accelerator and perform IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy) treatments
• Conduct stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) procedures
• Provide external beam therapy treatments for benign conditions including gynecomastia, heterotopic bone, and keloids
• Perform specialized treatments including respiratory gating and prophylactic treatments
• Manage patients with prostate cancer requiring seeds/fiducials placement
• Treat lymphoma patients (both Hodgkin's and Non-Hodgkin's) and testicular cancer patients
• Utilize ARIA and Varis-Vision charting systems for treatment planning and documentation
• Perform chart checks and maintain radiation safety protocols
• Work with Tomo Therapy equipment when required
• Treat 20-30 patients per day in a Monday through Friday schedule
• Maintain current ARRT T (Radiation Therapy) certification and BLS certification
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (4-5 hours for non-acute roles)
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events
• Float to sister facilities when staff shortages occur (very rare)
• Adhere to facility fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5 during day shifts
• Complete brief hospital orientation and specialized radiation oncology clinic orientation
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
