Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist - Radiation Therapist to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide radiation therapy treatments to adult outpatients with various cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, brain, extremity, skin, prostate, gynecologic, pelvis, genitourinary, pancreatic, and esophageal cancers
• Perform tumor localization and utilize CBCT/kV/mV imaging for treatment verification
• Operate TrueBeam linear accelerator and conduct IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy) treatments
• Execute specialized procedures including SBRT (Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy), respiratory gating, and treatments for patients with prostate seeds/fiducials
• Provide treatments for benign conditions including gynecomastia, heterotopic bone formation, and keloids
• Treat hematologic malignancies including Hodgkin's and Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma
• Utilize ARIA charting system for documentation and treatment planning
• Perform chart checks and ensure radiation safety protocols are followed
• Treat 20-30 patients per day in a 1:5 therapist to patient ratio
• Work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule
• Participate in Tomo Therapy and external beam therapy treatments
• Maintain current ARRT T and BLS certifications
• Complete required non-billable training modules pre-start and annually
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Float to sister sites if staffing shortages occur (very rare)
• Work weekends only if equipment is down for extended periods (very rare)
• Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events
• Complete hospital orientation and radiation oncology clinic-specific training
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
