Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care as a Registered Nurse in Medical Surgical Telemetry unit
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias
• Correctly treat and manage dysrhythmias
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:6-7 patients
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Float between sister units and affiliate hospitals as needed
• Work 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15)
• Work every other weekend as required
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Pass EKG testing prior to start
• Complete 36 hours of unit orientation
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable pre-start and annual modules
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams
• Provide blood product administration and central line care/management
• Manage peripheral line care and non-invasive airway management
• Implement isolation precautions as needed
• Utilize rapid response and code teams when necessary
• Restore physiologic stability and prevent patient complications
• Maintain compliance with facility policies and fatigue policy
• Provide two supervisory references from within past 12 months
• Maintain valid NC or Compact state licensure
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
