Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in a 35-bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with 1:6-7 patient ratios
• Monitor and manage telemetry patients with ability to correctly treat dysrhythmias
• Pass EKG testing prior to start and demonstrate competency in interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Administer blood products and manage central line and peripheral line care
• Provide non-invasive airway management and nasal cannula oxygen therapy
• Maintain isolation precautions and infection control protocols
• Utilize Rapid Response Teams when appropriate for patient care needs
• Document patient care using Epic charting system and SBAR communication format
• Dispense medications using Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Float to sister units within the hospital based on census and staffing needs
• Work 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15) for 36 or 48 hours per week
• Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Complete 36 hours of unit orientation and hospital orientation classes
• Maintain current BLS certification and obtain ACLS certification
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable pre-start and annual training modules
• Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy
• Restore physiologic stability, prevent complications, and maintain optimal patient responses
• Work with CNAs who maintain 1:12 patient ratios for additional support
• Complete all required compliance testing within 48 hours of contract signing
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
