Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care to renal and limb preservation patients including ESRD, ARF, vascular procedures, CHF, diabetics, and diabetic foot ulcer patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using telemetry equipment
• Manage dysrhythmias and provide appropriate interventions
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5-6 during 12-hour night shifts
• Administer blood products and manage central line care
• Provide peripheral line care and management
• Perform non-invasive airway management and nasal cannula care
• Implement isolation precautions as required
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Coordinate care with hemodialysis unit for patients requiring treatments
• Assist with peritoneal dialysis treatments on the unit
• Participate in daily interdisciplinary team meetings
• Float to similar units within the hospital or affiliate hospitals as needed
• Utilize rapid response teams when appropriate
• Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually
• Maintain current BLS certification
• Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Pass EKG testing prior to start
• Complete 24 hours of unit orientation including preceptor shifts and EMR education
• Comply with self-scheduling requirements per unit needs
• Adhere to fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
