Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Cath Lab to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 5x8 Days at a leading Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide cardiac catheterization lab nursing services for diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Perform cardiac stent placement, diagnostic catheterizations, and percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI)
• Monitor patients during IABP placement/removal and pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation, antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, and emergency medications
• Manage IV therapy including blood product administration and starting IVs
• Perform 12 lead EKGs, cardioversion, and interpret/manage dysrhythmias
• Monitor activated clotting time (ACT) and provide sheath removal and monitoring
• Circulate procedures and maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions
• Utilize Richmond Agitation-Sedation Scale for patient assessment
• Operate specialized equipment including Impella, Penumbra, EKOS, Roto, Ultrasound, and Shockwave
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Maintain current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Participate in rotating call schedule including every fifth weekend and one weekday
• Float between units and affiliate hospitals as needed based on census
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Maintain valid state nursing license
• Complete facility orientation and ongoing competency requirements
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
