Position Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide labor and delivery nursing care for obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater for all intrapartum care • Deliver high-risk antepartum and postpartum patient care • Perform sterile vaginal examinations and provide competent immediate newborn care • Circulate for scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births • Maintain 2:1 patient ratios in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment • Perform obstetrical patient triage and screening prior to admission • Provide routine outpatient procedures including antenatal fetal surveillance, intravenous hydration, and medication administration • Assist with rescue cervical cerclage procedures • Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation • Interpret telemetry and perform pain assessment and management • Start and maintain peripheral IVs as needed • Perform OCT (Oxytocin Challenge Tests) • Manage infant/neonatal arrest situations • Implement isolation precautions and proper PPE protocols • Float to special maternity care high-risk OB unit and affiliate hospitals as needed • Work every other weekend with minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Maintain current BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced, and NRP certifications • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (8-10 hours non-billable) • Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Provide two manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
