Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading $facility_type$ in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care for obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater for intrapartum, high-risk antepartum and postpartum care
• Maintain 2:1 patient ratios with high patient volume including 20 births in 24 hours and 30-40 admits daily
• Perform sterile vaginal examinations and provide competent immediate newborn care
• Circulate for scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births and assist with rescue cervical cerclage procedures
• Provide obstetrical triage services for patient screening prior to admission
• Perform routine outpatient procedures including antenatal fetal surveillance, intravenous hydration, and medication administration
• Float between units and affiliate hospitals as needed based on census and patient care requirements
• Utilize Epic charting system, PYXIS, and SBAR communication methods
• Maintain current BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced, and NRP certifications
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Complete minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule rotation
• Complete 24 hours of unit orientation and required pre-start training modules
• Adhere to fatigue policy limitations of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Provide care for under 16 weeks high-risk patients on the high-risk maternity unit
• Demonstrate competency in high-volume, fast-paced birthing unit environment
• Maintain valid state nursing license (NC or Compact state)
• Provide two manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
