Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x12 Nights at a leading $facility_type$ in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide labor and delivery nursing care with 2:1 patient ratios for obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater • Perform sterile vaginal examinations and provide immediate newborn care • Circulate for cesarean sections and scheduled/unscheduled procedures • Conduct triage of obstetrical patients in birthing care unit • Provide high-risk antepartum and postpartum care • Administer antenatal fetal surveillance and intravenous hydration • Assist with rescue cervical cerclage procedures • Maintain BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced, and NRP certifications • Utilize Epic charting system, PYXIS, and SBAR communication • Float to special maternity care high-risk OB unit and affiliate hospitals as needed • Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15 • Work minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule • Complete 24 hours of unit orientation • Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) • Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Provide pain assessment and management for patients • Start and maintain peripheral IVs • Perform telemetry interpretation • Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols • Handle infant/neonatal arrest situations • Conduct oxytocin challenge tests (OCT) as needed
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
