Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Nuclear Medical Technician - Nuclear Med Technician / Radiology to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform nuclear medicine procedures including gastric emptying, HIDA scans, MUGA scans, and PET scans
• Conduct bone and brain scans including 3 phase, limited, whole body, and cerebral blood flow studies
• Perform liver/spleen scans including liver flow, liver imaging, and liver scan-hemangioma
• Execute lung scans including DTPA aerosol, perfusion, and ventilation/perfusion studies
• Conduct renal flow studies including flow/function, renal perfusion, 3 phase, and with Lasix
• Perform thyroid studies including cancer survey, I-123 uptake scan, and uptake scan
• Execute tumor localization procedures including limited and whole body scans
• Perform SPECT scans including bone, brain, liver, renal, and sestamibi parathyroid scans
• Conduct myocardial studies including pharmacological stress and thallium stress tests
• Draw venous blood and start and maintain peripheral IVs
• Handle, store, and dispose of radioactive materials safely
• Follow isolation precautions and infection control protocols
• Utilize Epic charting system and NUCTRAC for documentation and dose ordering
• Operate GE equipment for nuclear medicine scans
• Provide care for patients across age groups including pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
• Work Monday through Friday 8-hour shifts with on-call requirements on weekends
• Float to affiliate locations as needed based on census and facility requirements
• Complete 24 hours of unit orientation and required training modules
• Maintain NMTCB certification and required professional competencies
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays as required
• Complete required compliance documentation and testing within specified timeframes
• Provide minimum 2 years of nuclear medicine experience with PET experience mandatory
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
