Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Nuclear Medical Technician - Nuclear Med Technician / Radiology to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform nuclear medicine scans including bone scans, brain scans, liver/spleen scans, lung scans, renal flow studies, thyroid studies, tumor localization, SPECT imaging, myocardial studies, and PET scans
• Conduct gastric emptying studies, HIDA scans, MUGA scans, and cerebral blood flow procedures
• Perform 3-phase bone scans, whole body scans, and limited scans as required
• Execute liver flow studies, liver imaging, and liver scan-hemangioma procedures
• Conduct DTPA aerosol, perfusion, and ventilation/perfusion lung studies
• Perform renal flow/function studies, renal perfusion, and studies with Lasix
• Conduct thyroid cancer surveys, I-123 uptake scans, and uptake scan procedures
• Perform SPECT imaging for bone, brain, liver, renal, and sestamibi parathyroid scans
• Execute pharmacological stress tests and thallium stress tests
• Draw venous blood and start and maintain peripheral IVs
• Store, handle, and dispose of radioactive materials safely according to protocols
• Maintain isolation precautions and follow infection control procedures
• Document patient care and procedures using Epic charting system
• Utilize NUCTRAC system for ordering doses and pharmaceuticals
• Operate all GE nuclear medicine equipment proficiently
• Provide patient care for adult and pediatric populations
• Respond to on-call requirements within 30 minutes when scheduled
• Float to affiliate medical centers as needed based on census and staffing requirements
• Complete 24 hours of unit orientation and ongoing training modules
• Maintain NMTCB certification and comply with continuing education requirements
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Complete required compliance documentation and annual certifications
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
