Position Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide respiratory therapy services in NICU, PICU, Pediatric Emergency Department, and Pediatric floors
• Perform airway management including endotracheal tube suctioning, extubation assistance, intubation assistance, and tracheostomy suctioning
• Administer medications including Albuterol, Atrovent, Flovent, Nitric Oxide, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Terbutaline Sulfate, Tobramycin, and Xopenex
• Set up and manage medication delivery systems including aerosol masks, aerosol trach setups, medihalers, and metered dose inhalers
• Operate nebulizers including hand held, T-piece, and trach collar configurations
• Provide oxygen therapy via bag and mask, ET tube, high flow nasal cannula, portable oxygen tanks, T-piece, and trach collar
• Manage ventilator systems including BiPAP, CPAP, high frequency oscillators, IMV, SIMV, and troubleshoot high pressure alarms
• Perform weaning from mechanical ventilation protocols
• Operate neonatal and pediatric equipment including Bubble CPAP, oscillating ventilators, and pressure/volume ventilators
• Assist with capillary and umbilical blood gas collection and interpretation
• Perform chest physiotherapy including vest therapy
• Care for patients with conditions including aspiration, COVID, cystic fibrosis, fresh tracheostomy, and pneumonia
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation
• Operate specialized equipment including Servo-I, Servo-N, HOFV-3100, Hamilton T1, and nitric oxide delivery systems
• Float between pediatric units and floors as needed based on census and workload
• Work every third weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Respond to call requirements when workload dependent
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Maintain current BLS, NRP, PALS, and RRT certifications
• Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Complete lab requirements and compliance testing within 48 hours of assignment
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
