Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist - Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide respiratory therapy services to pediatric and neonatal patients in NICU, PICU, Pediatric ED, and Pediatric floor settings • Perform airway management including endotracheal tube suctioning, extubation, intubation assistance, and tracheostomy care • Administer medications via aerosol including Albuterol, Atrovent, Flovent, Nitric Oxide, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, and other respiratory medications • Operate and troubleshoot ventilator equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, high frequency oscillators, and mechanical ventilation systems • Perform oxygen therapy using various delivery methods including high flow nasal cannula, bag and mask, and T-piece systems • Conduct arterial blood gas interpretation and capillary blood gas collection • Provide chest physiotherapy including vest therapy and pulmonary hygiene • Operate specialized equipment including Servo-I, Servo-N, HOFV ventilators, Hamilton T1, and various nebulizer systems • Float between pediatric units including NICU, PICU, Pediatric ED, and Pediatric floor as needed • Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation • Maintain current certifications including BLS, NRP, PALS, and RRT • Work every third weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays • Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable training modules pre-start and annually • Participate in call coverage as workload dependent • Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal transports when required • Care for patients with conditions including COVID, cystic fibrosis, pneumonia, and respiratory distress • Adhere to fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
