Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - PCU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Wilmington, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting with cardiac telemetry monitoring • Manage patients with cardiac conditions including atrial fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, and cardiomyopathy • Perform cardiac telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias • Provide pre and post cardiac catheterization care • Manage cardiac drips with and without titration requirements • Perform sheath removal and femoral sheath management • Provide care for patients with chest tubes using Emerson/Pleuravac systems • Manage patients requiring external CPAP/BIPAP and non-invasive airway management • Care for post-surgical patients including CABG, valve replacements, and vascular surgeries • Utilize specialized equipment including arterial lines, Doppler, bladder scanner, and EKG • Document patient care using Epic charting system • Float between units within the hospital and affiliate hospitals as needed • Work assigned patient ratios varying from 1:4 to 1:6 based on acuity level • Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events • Complete 24 hours of unit orientation and required training modules • Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications • Pass required EKG testing prior to assignment start • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) • Adhere to weekend requirement of 4 shifts per 4 weeks • Comply with fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Complete required compliance testing within 48 hours of contract signing
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
