Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for primary neuroscience unit patients including stroke, epilepsy, traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas, and other neurological diagnoses
• Maintain current BLS certification and obtain ACLS certification if preferred
• Demonstrate proficiency in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Pass EKG testing prior to assignment start
• Maintain 1:6 patient ratio during 12-hour night shifts
• Work every other weekend as required
• Float to other Med/Surg and Telemetry areas including COVID care units as needed
• Utilize Epic charting system, PYXIS, and SBAR communication methods
• Complete 36 hours of unit orientation
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Provide blood product administration and central line care/management
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips with titration capabilities
• Perform non-invasive airway management and nasal cannula care
• Maintain isolation precautions and utilize rapid response teams
• Complete required compliance documentation within 48 hours of signing
• Maintain valid RN licensure (NC or Compact state)
• Provide two manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
