Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care to adult patients on a 35-bed Med Surg/Tele unit with 1:6-7 patient ratios
• Monitor and manage patients with telemetry, interpreting and treating dysrhythmias
• Administer medications and blood products safely
• Provide central line care and management
• Manage peripheral line care and maintenance
• Implement isolation precautions as required
• Utilize non-invasive airway management techniques
• Participate in rapid response team activities
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Work weekend schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 12-hour night shifts
• Float to sister units and affiliate hospitals as needed based on census and skill set
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy
• Maintain current BLS certification and obtain ACLS certification
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (8-10 hours for acute care)
• Pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Maintain valid RN license (NC or Compact state)
• Provide two supervisor references from within the past 12 months
• Adhere to fatigue policy: no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Complete hospital orientation and 36 hours of unit orientation
• Comply with dress code requirements (navy blue scrubs)
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
