Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for surgery patients including colorectal, general surgery, hepatobiliary, and orthopedics/spine patients
• Maintain current BLS certification
• Perform IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:6
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation
• Use unit systems including Pyxis and SBAR
• Float occasionally within hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed
• Work every other weekend as scheduled
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Pass EKG testing prior to start
• Complete 36 hours of unit orientation
• Participate in self-scheduling based on unit needs and nurse manager input
• Complete required modules pre-start and annually (8-10 hours for acute care)
• Maintain valid RN licensure (NC or Compact)
• Provide two manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months
• Comply with facility dress code requirements (navy blue or white scrubs)
• Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 days in a row and/or 60 hours per week
• Complete required compliance documentation and vaccinations
• Work 36 or 48 hour schedules as assigned (no overtime until after 48 hours if on 48-hour schedule)
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
