Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Huntersville, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for variable med-surg patients with focus on cardiac and neurology services
• Maintain current BCLS certification and obtain NIH certification
• Demonstrate proficiency in IV start, telemetry, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5/6 during 12-hour night shifts
• Float to other Med/Surg units as needed based on census and skill sets
• Work every other weekend as required
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Utilize EPIC charting system, Pyxis, and SBAR communication
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• Attend 2 days of unit orientation (12-hour shifts) and hospital orientation week
• Provide care for COVID patients when necessary (unless pregnant)
• Care for patients with stroke, hip and knee procedures, colorectal cancer, general surgical patients, GYN surgeries, hospice, cardiac services, pre and post cath, tele neurology, and oncology
• Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Comply with facility dress code requiring navy and white scrubs
• Maintain valid RN licensure (NC or Compact license acceptable)
• Provide two manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months
• Complete required compliance documentation and lab testing within 48 hours after signing
• Obtain required flu vaccination (medical/religious exemptions only)
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
