Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide intrapartum care for obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater
• Deliver high-risk antepartum and postpartum care
• Perform sterile vaginal examinations
• Provide competent immediate newborn care
• Circulate in operating room for scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births
• Maintain 2:1 patient ratio in fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Care for patients in obstetrical triage unit for screening and outpatient procedures
• Perform antenatal fetal surveillance
• Administer intravenous hydration and medications
• Assist with rescue cervical cerclage procedures
• Maintain current BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP certifications
• Utilize PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR systems for documentation and communication
• Float as needed to Special Maternity Care high-risk OB unit
• Float within hospital or to affiliate hospitals as required
• Work minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Complete 24 hours of unit orientation
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• Comply with facility dress code using provided scrubs
• Maintain valid RN licensure (NC or Compact state)
• Provide two manager/supervisor references from within past 12 months
• Complete required compliance documentation within 48 hours after signing
• Adhere to fatigue policy (maximum 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week)
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
