Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU Neuro to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care in the Neuro ICU with minimum 2 years experience required
• Maintain patient ratios of 2:1 (may flex to 3:1 during high census)
• Care for patients with strokes, craniotomies, aneurysms, seizures, and other neurological conditions
• Manage ventilated patients and provide respiratory care
• Perform IV starts and administer blood products
• Provide central line care and management
• Monitor and manage continuous IV sedation
• Care for patients with external ventricular drains (EVD) and lumbar drains
• Perform ICP monitoring using specialized equipment
• Provide post-neurosurgery patient management
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Manage CVA and acute stroke patients
• Utilize isolation precautions and proper PPE protocols
• Operate specialized equipment including Camino, LICOX, NICOM, and Arctic Sun
• Document patient care using EPIC charting system
• Communicate using SBAR methodology
• Float to other units within the hospital or affiliate hospitals as needed
• Work every other weekend as required
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Complete 24 hours of unit orientation
• Pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Maintain current ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Adhere to facility dress code requirements
• Comply with fatigue policy limitations on consecutive days and weekly hours
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems [Epic, Cerner, etc. preferred]
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
