Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - PCU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide patient care services in PCU/Stepdown unit with 3:1 or 4:1 patient ratios
• Manage arterial lines and titrate vasoactive drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, Cardene, Levophed, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Neo
• Monitor and interpret telemetry including recognition and management of dysrhythmias
• Administer blood products and manage IV insulin protocols
• Provide central line care and management, peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Implement heparin protocols and conscious sedation procedures
• Manage patients with chest tubes, tracheostomies, BIPAP, CPAP, and high flow nasal cannula
• Care for post-operative patients from GYN, GU, GI, thoracotomy, neuro, and orthopedic surgeries
• Manage patients with respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, withdrawal, and GI bleeds
• Utilize Epic charting system and Pyxis medication management system
• Float to sister ICCU unit as needed based on census and patient care requirements
• Participate in rapid response team activities and manage post-rapid response patients
• Maintain isolation precautions and infection control protocols
• Complete mandatory hospital orientation during first week of assignment
• Pass required EKG testing prior to start date
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable acute care modules pre-start and annually
• Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Maintain current ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications
• Adhere to facility dress code requiring navy, white, or combination scrubs
• Comply with fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems [Epic, Cerner, etc. preferred]
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
