Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care for renal and limb preservation patients including ESRD, ARF, vascular procedures, CHF, diabetics, and diabetic foot ulcer patients
• Monitor and interpret telemetry including dysrhythmias interpretation and management
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5-6 on a 41-bed inpatient telemetry unit
• Document patient care using EPIC electronic medical records system
• Utilize unit systems including Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR communication
• Float to other units within the hospital or affiliate hospitals as needed based on census and skill sets
• Work 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend requirement
• Participate in self-scheduling per unit needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including hospitalist, RN navigator, nursing assistants, receptionist, dietary, PT/OT, and pharmacy
• Assist with peritoneal dialysis treatments on the unit with dialysis team initiation
• Coordinate care for hemodialysis patients receiving treatments in the hemodialysis unit
• Complete 24 hours of unit orientation including 2 shifts with preceptor and EMR education
• Pass EKG testing prior to assignment start
• Complete required non-billable training modules pre-start and annually
• Maintain current BCLS certification
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Adhere to fatigue policy limiting work to no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Maintain valid RN licensure with minimum 2 years of experience
• Comply with dress code requirements wearing navy or white scrubs
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems [Epic, Cerner, etc. preferred]
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
