Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients with GI conditions, blood loss, anemia, infections, and renal conditions
• Monitor and care for surgical patients who have had GI surgery
• Provide telemetry monitoring and care for patients in cardiac rhythm monitoring beds
• Maintain 1:6 patient ratio with flexibility to accommodate 1:7 ratio during staffing challenges
• Perform IV starts and maintain IV access for patients
• Maintain current BCLS certification
• Float to other med/surg units/floors as needed based on census and staffing requirements
• Work every other weekend as required
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Utilize EPIC charting system for patient documentation
• Use PYXIS medication dispensing system and SBAR communication method
• Pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable acute care modules pre-start and annually
• Participate in 36-hour unit orientation program
• Comply with navy and/or white scrub dress code requirements
• Adhere to fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days and 60 hours per week
• Manage fast-paced environment with approximately one-third bed turnover daily
• Provide minimum 2 years of nursing experience with 1 year of travel nursing experience
• Complete required compliance testing within 48 hours after signing
• Maintain NC or Compact state nursing licensure
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems [Epic, Cerner, etc. preferred]
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
