Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care for med surg patients on telemetry unit
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:6 during normal staffing (maximum 1:7 during critical staffing)
• Perform IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Maintain current BCLS certification
• Pass EKG testing prior to start
• Utilize EPIC charting system for documentation
• Use Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Communicate using SBAR format
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• Work every other weekend as required
• Float to other units as needed based on census and staffing requirements
• Float to affiliate hospitals when required
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Participate in self-scheduling system
• Complete 24 hours of unit orientation
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• Complete required lab testing within 48 hours after signing
• Maintain valid RN license (NC or Compact)
• Provide two manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months
• Adhere to facility dress code requiring navy and/or white scrubs
• Comply with flu vaccination requirement
• Follow fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days and 60 hours per week
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems [Epic, Cerner, etc. preferred]
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
