Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide specialized nursing care for patients with potentially life-threatening health problems in the Intermediate Critical Care Unit
• Care for patients with unstable hemodynamics, surgical complications, neurological issues, detox/withdrawal, and respiratory distress
• Perform IV starts and provide telemetry monitoring
• Titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, Cardene, Levophed, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Neo drips
• Manage titratable drips and non-invasive ventilation according to intermediate protocols
• Maintain current ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications
• Complete EKG testing prior to start and demonstrate competency
• Utilize PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR systems for patient care documentation
• Float to sister unit 5th West ICCU as needed based on census and patient care requirements
• Work every other weekend and minimally 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays per 6-week time track
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays unless pre-approved off during offer process
• Complete 24 hours/2 full days of unit orientation
• Make up any missed shifts within the same week when possible
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable acute care modules pre-start and annually
• Provide care for COVID-19 patients as assigned
• Maintain valid RN licensure and minimum 2 years critical care experience
• Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems [Epic, Cerner, etc. preferred]
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
